If you got the research for it - and by the time you are able to open up the L-gate you should have it - expand your outpost to the highest available tier, build defence stations of which at least 30% has PD at it and whenever possible the "Defence Grid Supercomputer" as that would add another 8 defence stations.Įven at Star Fortress capacity you'd have 20 defence stations (DGS add's 8 on top of the 3 you get for each tier of the base which are 12 stations at Fortress) and you should be able to have around 40K+ power from it. Usually the first time the gate opens you got invaded by 2 fleets with a few other ones after that. So sad.Nanite fleets come out at 30K and are made of one battleship size and 4-5 cruiser size ships. They finally add one thing that can be an incentive to go to war, and mess the natural way to get to it. Next time play the safe card and get your L-gate in your borders before doing the last research. Not much but if you're emotionally attached to this game it's worth try and find it. Well, rant end, this thread summoned me to tell you there's a way to salvage your L-cluster opening by firing a certain event giving you the project via console, according to what I read somewhere. At least they knew this was an edge case since the popup is explicit about it. All it takes to test it is to console your way to the second case, wardec + autowin the right guy, and check if you can do the project to see it's borked beyond belief. I mean there's 2 cases right? Either you complete everything while having a L-gate in your borders, or without one in your borders. This still amazes me that this bug is part of a major feature of a DLC.
